Hope you all are well. I am back at Wimbledon, well last year I also came but I could not play.
Remember I came to play an exhibition to try and test how I was feeling and then decided I could
not play. It was partly tough since the decision was not tough to take. I was not healthy and
I could not play. So the tough part was to know I could not play to defend the title.

希望你們都很好。我回到溫布頓了，去年我也有來，但我無法比賽。記得我來打了場表演賽測試自己感覺

But I like to think positive and look ahead. I am here at Wimbledon again, practicing well, happy
and ready to play, You never know how things can go, because this is THE tournament and every
player entering the draw wants to win it. There are many factors, many things that can happen.

Hopefully things will go well. If they do great, and if not I know I have many more years to come
back. Hopefully this blog will also bring me a little bit of luck like in the past times.

1. Hello Rafa, do you feel differences from the last time you were in Wimbledon, in 2008, than this year – I mean about your game? You have not been able to play a lot this year on grass like two years ago when you won Queens, but I am sure with your practice and matches you will feel at home. RN: Many thanks. Grass is a special surface and clearly the servers, the big servers are all very dangerous! But also the players that return well are difficult on this surface.

RN: Many thanks. I have a close and personal relationship with all my team members. We are working but friends also, even if we have a difference on age like with Carlos and Benito. With Maymo I spent the most time since he is always at every tournament and every practice with me. So yes, it is a very important guy in the team.

Let me start by saying how happy I am to start again my Wimbledon tournament. I am really
looking forward to tomorrow’s match since it’s been since you know when that I haven’t
played here… I am very excited about it believe me and I am looking forward very much to
seeing all the fans as we enter the center court.

I was informed today that I was playing on Center Court and I was very happy about it. It is no
secret that I love to play here and I love this tournament with that great atmosphere on Center.

I am also happy for the World Cup and Spain finally winning that match against Honduras.
We watched it all at the house. I love football and to see Spain winning is also something
that motivates me.

And I did see Roger’s match on TV. I know this question comes so I prefer to just say it, I always
say when asked about the tournaments, the draws, the final before even having played the first
round that today’s tennis and the competition is very, very tough. Roger’s match was an
example. Falla played great tennis and there are no easy matches here. I always say it when
asked in the first round about a potential final… We go round after round, each match is important
and difficult.

I am playing on Tuesday my first round against a very good player and it won’t be easy.

I am writing this blog this year again from the house I rented in Wimbledon. Have to say that
since I stay here the tournament is much better for me.

今年再次在溫布頓的租屋內寫這個blog。我必須說，自從待在這裡，對我來說比賽的感覺好多了。

I used to stay in the city at a hotel but in the last 5 years (except last year, obviously) I am 
staying at a rented house next to the courts. That really is a big difference. Big change and 
much better. I really feel like home like this. As a matter of fact we do everything that you would
do home. Cock, clean (that’s the worst I suppose), ….

我過去習慣住在市區的飯店，但過去五年(顯然除了去年之外) 我都住在球場旁邊的租屋。那真的有很大的

But changing subject, let me tell you that this club is simply amazing. Today I went to one of the
roofs and had the chance to see the club. It is beautiful and we are very privileged to come and
play at this place.

RN: Well, Catalan and Mallorcan is almost the same. My English is getting better… Not really French…

7. Jamie Baker said practising with you was like playing a “machine” as well as a real culture shock. How do you manage to keep so focus when you practice? Susanna

RN: I always said play like you practice so I suppose that answers the question. But clearly not like a machine.

An extra long sleep ... and I missed the Queen!

Let me start today this post by saying that I only got the questions last night when I was already
asleep. That is the reason why there was no blog last night. Sorry for that. I know that I was
supposed to do it this morning but I didn’t have time today since after I woke up and had my
breakfast had to go to practice.

首先我得說之所以昨晚没有寫部落格，是因為直到要睡覺之前我才收到球迷的問題。對此我感到很抱歉。

我知道今天早上我應該完成這些，但今天我沒有時間，因為從我起床用過早餐之後，我就必須要去練球。

I normally try to sleep more than usual if I am playing in the afternoon or late afternoon. That way
the day is not that long and I don’t get tired before the match. A question of routine. And because
of that routine I missed meeting the Queen Elizabeth today. I would have loved to and they’ve
told me she would be at my match, so I was really looking forward to meeting her at the end of
the match. Unfortunately, Her Majesty left and I missed the opportunity. Hopefully another time
I will have the honor and chance to do so.

一般來說，如果我下午或傍晚有比賽的話，我會睡得比平常要久。這樣這一天就不會那麼長，而且在賽前才

Coming back to my match, I’d said before how difficult is to play here at Wimbledon against
great servers. Well, it was a very tough match today and I was really pushed to the limits.
Thankfully it went well.

Tomorrow a day off, some practice and then concentration to see Spain play in the Word Cup…

快被逼到極限。幸好結果是好的。

2. I am watching the Isner/Mahut match right now, and I am amazed that they are now at 52 games all in the fifth set. Do you think there should be a fifth set tie-break like at the US Open or should the players play it out like we are seeing? Traci

If Spain don't win, I'm backing England

I am writing this blog before going to sleep and very happy after seeing Spain qualify for the next
round at the World Cup. I have been asked several times about my favorite teams and obviously
after Spain i have to say that I like England. Would love to see them do something important if
Spain doesn’t make it to the final. The reason I have for this apart from the fact that I like the
team and that I like the style of British football, I think they deserve also a big win. For what they
give to the sport and the time that they haven’t won something big, I really would like them to
go far in the tournament. But obviously I want first Spain to win.

睡前來寫部落格，很高興看到西班牙能挺進世界杯下一輪。關於我最喜歡的球隊這個問題，我已經被問了

好多遍，很明顯地，除了西班牙之外，英格蘭隊是我其次喜歡的。如果西班牙隊無法打進決賽，我會很樂意

My day today was kind of quiet. Practice at noon, easy and good practice, watched Portugal and
Brazil match while I was getting some stretching from my physio Rafael Maymo, some play station
matches with my partner in this tournament Benito (we are killing Maymo and Albert Molina) and
then a bit of rest before watching Spain play. So that’s a typical day for me here at Wimbledon
this year. Lots of tennis and even more football.

今天我過得有種平靜。中午練球，簡單的練習，和我的防護員Rafael Maymo一起在做伸展時，看了葡萄牙

和巴西的比賽，和Benito一隊打了幾場PS比賽(我們痛宰Maymo和Albert Molina)，之後在西班牙比賽前

小憩一下。是我今年在溫布頓時很典型的一天，充滿了網球以及更多的足球。

Tomorrow another important match for me, with the will to be again in the second week of
Wimbledon. We’ll see. Nothing easy.

No pasta for me after yesterday's long match

Sorry but last night I could not post anything since I got back to my house and we decided to go
out for dinner to the city. I had not done it all week so my team was kind of tired of eating always
my pasta… So we went almost straight from the end of the work with media etc to my favorite
restaurant in London. You have heard many times about it, El Cambio de Tercio. I was so happy
for yesterday’s win that I just said, OK, let’s go wherever you guys want!

很抱歉但昨晚我沒更新任何文章，因為我回到住處後，我們決定要到市區用晚餐。整週我都沒有這麼做，

因此我的團隊有點吃膩了我做的義大利麵。所以我們在結束工作，像是媒體訪問這些後，就立刻到我在

倫敦最喜歡的餐廳。你們已經聽過我說這間餐廳很多次了，是El Cambio de Tercio。因為昨天贏球我很

高興，所以我就說：OK，我們去任何你們想去的地方！

So we had a great dinner last night. Now I just woke up and I am going to go and hit a bit. Not
much, since yesterday’s match was long and I also had the problem on my knee. I want to go
and see how it feels today. I am not too worried, but it is there and I need to get the treatment
once I finish this tournament. I would love to win it and then go for that treatment. We’ll see.

所以昨晚我們吃了頓很棒的晚餐。現在我剛起床，我要去小小練習一會。量不會太大，因為昨天比賽時間

RN: She keeps a lot of stuff but not everything. I do keep everything that I play with, I mean at least one model. Shoes, shirts, racquets… One day I will have them all exposed.

Hope you guys are OK. I am sorry (I really am) for England’s defeat at the World Cup. I did
mention here and at Wimbledon that I really likes this team. I think it has been very unfortunate
what happened today. I mean that mistake from the linesman and the referee is something
unbelievable. I don’t understand why there is no way in football to have the 4th referee looking at
a screen and saying to the main one what is going on. Just like the Hawk-Eye in tennis. Very
simple, very easy.

With a mistake like this you are out of the World Cup, just like that! I don’t think that’s fair. The
match could have changed a lot with that goal. Then Germany played better but thats a different
story. Then later in the day Mexico was also affected by a mistake that everyone saw, even at the
stadium itself!
Unbelievable.

Anyway let’s talk about tennis because as I say I am here to play tennis and to play at
Wimbledon. Got some questions today after my practice about my knee. It’s feeling better and I
expect to be ready to play tomorrow.

I have always been a very fair player and yesterday when I called the trainer I really needed him
since I was in pain. I know there has been some controversy because of that but I don’t think
it is fair. Like it was not fair the way the umpire gave me a warning for coaching. Toni was only
saying to me to be positive and I don’t think that’s giving me any advice. So there you go. I am
normally not commenting these things but I feel it was important to tell you about it.
